Block Island Ferry, children and dog friendly.

So one day, my friend Colleen and I decided to visit our mutual friend Joe out on Block Island. For those of you who have never been, its an island off of Rhode Island that you can only get there by ferry, which is about an hour ride. I was pretty sure my dogs had never been on a boat before, and I hoped that they would not get sea sick.

Well the dogs were totally fine but Colleen was feeling the rough seas. So that meant I was on my own with the dogs trying to keep them out of people's way and under control. During the trip I saw how much Maci loved little kids. Almost every kid that got within reach was licked, laid on, and tolerated.

On the trip to the island, an adorable 4 year old blonde girl sat with Maci for most of the trip, and on the way back there were two toddlers who pulled on her lips, ears, feet and tail. She stayed by them and put up with their antics. It was by far one of the cutest moments I've had with her and I could see that she just really loved it.

So then I got to thinking that she would make a great therapy dog for sick kids, she has to be at least 6 months to start so she has a few more weeks but I hope that she will do well and help people.
